Radio Unbound was founded on one simple principle: the music comes first. Our goal is to be Central Ohio’s definitive source for genuine, independent alternative music. We are the home for real music discovery and a voice for the alternative community. Built by music lovers, artists, and dreamers, we champion independent sound, local culture, and fearless creativity. We believe radio should feel human again — driven by passion, not playlists.

A couple years ago, when a beloved independent terrestrial radio station in our community went dark, we felt a profound sense of loss — not just for the music, but for the community and the authentic, diverse programming that suddenly disappeared. The airwaves felt emptier.

We started Radio Unbound as a way to cope with that loss, creating a dedicated space that honors the spirit of independent radio. We are in no way attempting to replace what was lost, but rather to fill the void its absence created for thousands of local listeners. It quickly became clear that we weren't alone in our grief. We saw an opportunity to create something resilient: a community-focused, streaming space where dedicated curators crafted the soundtrack, not commercial interests. Our purpose is to help others cope by proving that the authentic alternative spirit is still alive and well.

Since we first went live, we've been growing into Central Ohio's Authentic Alternative, streaming a vibrant mix of genres that span the history and future of alternative music. We're proud to be an independent platform, dedicated to serving our community of listeners who crave something real.
